Here's some sketches from our family's trip to Alcatraz, a legitimately awesome, scary, very cool place. The audio tour is just stellar, and we got a great guided tour from a park ranger. I think we all really loved this day.

ReplyDeleteIt became such a haunting, immersive experience for me. My imagination was running wild as I tried to place myself back in the 1930's.
ReplyDeleteThe bit about the inmates cells facing the harbor just killed me. Being able to hear the New Year's Eve laughter and festivities coming from the passing ships. What agony for those doomed to the island! I would have tried to escape as well.
Oh I love those, really sincere moments here. Love them all.
