The Big Three

This week, I am pleased to say, there is a lot of big news at the studio. Pixar is just a constant source of inspiration, but this week is really tough to beat. Here are three things you should definitely check out:

Bill Presing has just released a book of his drawings. It's incredible, they're amazing, and they're gonna go fast.

Ratatouille opens today! It's pretty miraculous. People here did a really awesome job, and I think you can see the care and dedication in every frame. I'm really proud of it, and I hope that everyone enjoys it!

Lou Romano, an incredible artist and designer here at the studio has done the June 25th cover of the New Yorker! And he stars as the one of the main voices in Ratatouille. Now that's just nuts.

Read, watch a movie, get outside; this weekend is gonna be great.

Yay for all three! I just took a seven-year-old to see Ratatouille. She loved it! I can't wait to see Bill's book and the New Yorker cover. Three cheers all 'round!

    I loved Ratatouille.
Congrats to all in Emeryville !

Now that the film is released can you talk about what you did on it ? I noticed your credit as one of the animators for the brilliant 2D credit sequence. That credit sequence was the perfect dessert course after the main course.

Are there any articles or making-of podcasts that discuss how you guys made that sequence ? I haven't seen any yet , but I just started searching. If you're allowed to write about it I'd love to read what went in to making that sequence.

  7. Heh - if you look at the license plate - it seems that Lou snuck his birthday in there. :)

  8. Hey Nick, is there somewhere we can watch your story reel for One Man Band? I tried going to your post about it last May (2006) but the reels weren't up anymore. I'd like to see it again.

Congrats on your first Pixar credits! The whole movie is spectacular; it's hilarious and charming and beautiful all at the same time. Definitely one of my top favorites from the studio. Great end credits too!
